Ms Alami's Classroom (msalamiclassroom.com) is run by Ms Alami, a primary teacher in Sydney, NSW. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- When you buy a resource: your email address, your name if you give it, what you bought, the price and the date. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see or store your card details.
- When you download a free resource or join the email list: your email address, which resource you downloaded, and whether you said yes to emails about new resources.
- When you use the contact form: your email address, the subject and your message.
- When you sign in to My purchases: a sign-in cookie, so you stay signed in (see "Cookies" below).
- Visitor numbers: we count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you.
We don't collect information about students. Please don't send us students' names or other personal details.
How we use it
- To send your downloads, receipts and download links, and to let you download again later
- To answer your messages and help with downloads or refunds
- To send emails about new resources and freebies, but only if you said yes. Every email has an unsubscribe link, as required by the Spam Act 2003.
- To keep the records we need for tax and accounting
- To keep the store secure, for example by stopping a form from being misused
We never sell, rent or swap your information.
Who helps us run the store
We use a few trusted services. Each one only gets the information it needs to do its job:
- Stripe: takes card payments
- Resend: sends our emails
- Supabase: stores order, customer and email-list records (its servers are in Japan)
- Cloudflare: stores the download files and protects the store's admin area
- Vercel: hosts the website and counts visits
Some of these services store information outside Australia, including in Japan and the United States.
How long we keep it
- Orders and receipts: for at least 5 years, as tax law requires, and so you can keep downloading what you bought
- Email list: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep your address on a "do not email" list so you aren't emailed again.
- Contact messages: only as long as we need them to help you
Cookies
- When you sign in to My purchases, a cookie keeps you signed in for up to 60 days.
- If you close the email sign-up pop-up, your browser remembers this on your own device, so it doesn't keep popping up.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any email.
- See, correct or delete your information: ask us through the contact page and we'll reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records to meet tax law.
- Complaints: please contact us first so we can put things right. If you're not happy with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Keeping it safe
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Download links are private to you, and the store's admin area needs a secure sign-in.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
