Ask for 2/5 of 30 and you'll see who understands fractions of amounts. Some find one fifth (6) and stop. Others multiply by 5 and divide by 2, getting 75. Both are wrong options in this quiz-show game. Students find fractions and percentages of quantities and add lots of a unit fraction to climb to $1 million.

How it runs

Two lessons of 45–60 minutes. Lesson 1 has refreshers on fractions of quantities and benchmark percentages, a tape-diagram example and a warm-up round, then the 12-question game. In Present mode, students click A to D: a correct answer shows the working, a wrong one shows a hint and Try again (PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides). For rotations, use the 12 task cards and the recording sheet with its fold-under answer strip.
